WHAT IS LASER Tattoo Removal?
Thanks to advances in aesthetic medicine, it is now possible to master the principle of the eternity of tattooing by means of the Q-Switched laser. The experts at Rejuvenation Wellness Center have equipped themselves with the latest generation machine that allows tattoos to be carried out in a non-invasive and non-ablative manner while preserving the dermis from possible burns or scars. The Q-Switched laser combines the emission of very short pulses of light with very high power. This type of laser can treat all types of tattoos and all phototypes, thanks to its different wavelengths, which target the pigments in order to activate their dissolution.

How it Works
During a first consultation, the expert doctor first examines the condition of the patient’s skin, which is a determining factor in the treatment: the epidermis must not show any lesions, dermatological disorders (eczema, dermatosis, etc.), or tan.
Secondly, the doctor offers the patient an approximate number of sessions to be performed after examining the surface to be treated, the armadillo pigments, and its density.
Before proceeding with the treatment, it is possible to apply an anesthetic cream for the comfort of the patient. For very deep, very dense, or very large tattoos, it is also possible to perform local anesthesia in the form of injections. Then, the doctor passes the Q-Switch laser on the area to be removed. The striking force of the laser makes it possible to “explode” the pigments into microscopic particles, which will be cleaned by the white blood cells. After the session, a repairing cream is applied to the treated area.
How many laser tattoo removal sessions do I need to perform?
On average, 6 – 10 tattoo removal sessions are expected to permanently get rid of a tattoo, depending on the pigments that compose it and its density.
How often is it possible to have tattoo removal sessions?
It is important to respect a minimum of 6 weeks between each tattoo removal session to allow the skin surface to heal and the deep pigments to rise to the surface.
Is laser tattoo removal at Rejuvenation Wellness Center painful?
During treatment, the patient may feel a slight tingling that can be reduced by applying an anesthetic cream or injecting numbing agent beforehand. We use a machine, which is equipped with a system that cools the skin during the treatment, making the treatment less uncomfortable.
Does tattoo removal leave any scar or mark?
On most occasions, laser tattoo removal won’t leave a scar or mark of any kind, but in some cases, a scar may appear along with discoloration (in darker skin tones). Discoloration can be treated with lightening creams like hydroquinone. If the discoloration is light, then it can be treated with an excimer laser. Our experts will try their best not to leave any scar or mark from the spot where the tattoo is removed, but in case, the mark or scar appears, then we will suggest the best wound care instructions and aftercare for optimal healing.

What to Expect After Laser Tattoo Removal
At the end of each laser session at Rejuvenation Wellness Center, a topical cream will be applied to the treated skin along with bandages to help protect the healing area. You can also expect some mild but temporary swelling, redness, and sensitivity. You may also feel like you have a sunburn and experience minor scabbing. It's important to follow aftercare instructions precisely to speed up the recovery process from laser tattoo removal. Once the area has healed, our team members can book your next session. Keep in mind that we generally do not recommend scheduling sessions sooner than 4 – 7 weeks apart.
